Are you the couple that everyone loves to do things with? Perhaps a wedding brunch is more your style - leaving most of the weekend for playing outdoors with close friends and family.

Love golf (and your friends do too?) - Love to hike, bike, fish? Do your partners (and friend's partners) prefer to shop and/or maybe pampered with spa treatments? Then design a wedding weekend that gives you the time to do all these things - and a wedding brunch fits the ticket nicely.

What is lovely about a wedding brunch, is that you may host one on a Sunday instead if Saturday and not cut into people's travel time going home. This gives you all day Saturday to play with your friends. Of course you may have a Saturday brunch if preferred.

Hors d’oeuvres - The Beginning

These little bites are a tasty way to begin your special event. They can be anything that is a one or two bite item and one that is easily handled by guests dressed in their finery.
Serving some type of hors d'oeuvres at the start of a wedding reception is important in those situations where guest arrival may be staggered.
For example if the wedding ceremony venue is a drive from the reception area - some guests may have easy access to their cars and get right out, others may be held up in traffic or even in a parking lot. Another example is the time spent by guests waiting for the wedding party to arrive - unless you have arranged to have all your wedding photos done prior to the ceremony, most families (and photographers) like a selection of staged wedding and family photos to be done prior to going to the reception.
Having some set stations with simple items that can be attractively displayed - such as crudites, cheese and fresh fruit w/ accompaniments - is a nice touch along with perhaps prepared thirst quencher beverages (for example; flavored ice teas, lemonades, cool fizzies) set out or handed to each guests as they arrive. It is a simple, refreshing touch that you guests will appreciate.

Having self-serve station gives your guests something to do while they wait for the full reception to begin and keeps those stomach from growling! After all, how many people really have time to eat before a wedding? Everyone is usually too busy running around. It also allows you to save those special individual hors d'oeuvres you have selected to serve after the majority of your guests have arrived. This way no one feels left out or that they missed some special items that earlier guests got! Of course, if it fits your budget, you may serve individual hors d'oeuvres (butler-passed and on station) right from the start.
Just remember that individual hors d'oeuvres are generally pricier and your guests will most likely eat more than the standard 3 pieces per person- depending on the length of time before going in to dinner.

Our former tennis court provides a lovely flat surface for weddings up to 250 people. There is lots of room for many different style set-ups designed for your event. Each area can be held under one very large tent or defined by different tents - according to the number of people attending your wedding and how you would like things to be arranged.

Have children attending your wedding and wish to give their parents a bit of a break? Book a smaller tent and set-up a babysitting/entertainment area. Provide a clown or balloon maker perhaps line up a video or two. Games, pizza and finger food can make your wedding fun for the children and the parents.

Design a wedding ceremony area according to your style - casual or formal and put it under a separate tent or under the sky.

A Luncheon Wedding

Summer is lovely in Vermont. It's a perfect time for a Luncheon Wedding - tailored for the lighter budget.

On arrival night, serve a light buffet for your guests. Enjoy a breakfast buffet with your guests, then get ready for your luncheon wedding and reception at 1 or 2pm. After your reception, your guests may explore Vermont on their own. You may decide to provide a light repast for them in the evening - or not. Choose to have the regular breakfast buffet on Sunday Morning or select a Sunday Brunch for a later time and heartier menu (surcharge applies).

Using another Caterer

At Frog's Leap Inn we are flexible. Some guests may have a specific caterer in mind for their wedding or want a different style than we may offer. It is your day and we want you to plan and tailor it to your desires.

For those choosing that option we do require an independent insurance waiver to be purchased. The cost of that waiver varies according to the size of the wedding etc.

From Friday 12 Noon to Sunday 2:00PM the entire inn and grounds are yours. We offer earlier check-in and later departure times for weddings - we know how hard it is to say good-bye to everyone, as well as all that packing up that has to be done. Breakfast (and Welcome Basket) for those staying at the inn is included - a surcharge will be applied for outside guests for those meals. We will make up matching Welcome Baskets for your guests staying at another inn for a separate fee.

$5200.00 not including Tax and Service Charge

Do you wish to relax a bit before the wedding or make sure that all your guests arrive on time? Book Thursday as well for an additional $1,000 (which is discounted from our regular rates).

For weddings over 50 people, there is a $2 per person fee over 50.

Your wedding guests staying at the inn may be responsible for payment of their rooms, however all rooms would be guaranteed by you.

Cakes, Treats and fun desserts

Do you have to have a traditional wedding cake at your wedding? Absolutely not! It's your day. Have some fun. From cookie bride and groom cut-outs to bundt cakes and Viennese tables, design the sweet part of your wedding to suit your tastes and those of your guests as well as your budget.

If you love the ceremony tied to a wedding cake - have a small single or tiered cake - and add other treats for your guests. Or have sheet cakes of different flavors, ready to cut and serve by the waitstaff.

If you are on a tighter budget - think about a cake (or cupcakes) sized to serve every guest seated at a table and use the cake (on a pedestal) topped or surrounded with flowers/favors as the centerpiece of the tables.

Concerned about the empty space in a reception room when the cake is cut and gone? Have your cake placed on a large vase with the flower arrangement inside (or fruit, or sparkles etc.) - when the cake is removed, you still have a lovely centerpiece in place for the remainder of your wedding.

Having a long reception with lots of dancing after the dinner is served. A good thing to do when you have the traditional cake, is to have cookies or other sweet snacks available later during the reception - all that dancing and laughing makes people hungry as well as thirsty - offer your guests a plate of treats set on each table to eat at their leisure.
